6. Dunscarrow

Region Type

  • Hill-fort / windswept highlands / cursed battleground

Description

High on the broken shoulders of the northern hills lies Dunscarrow, a collapsed hill-fort lashed by endless gales and haunted by memory. Once a proud bastion of ancient kings, its stones are now scattered across the cliffs like bones. Lightning cleaves the sky here almost nightly, and strange relics litter the grass — rusted blades that burn the living, talismans that whisper in dreams.

Few dare linger in Dunscarrow. Not because of what is seen… but because of what is heard: drums that beat with no hand, horns that sound with no breath.

Optional Traits

Thunder Breaks

The storm never sleeps above Dunscarrow. Lightning arcs toward treasure like a predator drawn to the scent of metal and ruin.

  • At the start of each round, roll a d20.
  • On a result of 1–4, lightning strikes this turn.
  • Select one treasure token at random.
  • Then, select a random model within 6” of that token (any warband).
  • That model is struck by magical lightning and immediately suffers a +3 magical shooting attack

Relics of Wrath

Many of the relics scattered across Dunscarrow still hum with hatred. Picking one up is a gamble every time.

The first time a model picks up a treasure token during the game, roll a d20:

  • 1–5: The relic is cursed. The bearer suffers –1 Will for the rest of the game.
  • 6–15: No effect.
  • 16–20: The relic surges with energy. The bearer gains +1 Fight for the rest of the game.
